I'm a beginning artist. My art journey began in 2011 with some simple photo manipulations, which I share here. I still do those occasionally.
In 2016, my mother sent me a picture of myself "doing art" at 4 years old (a self-portrait with no-name brand markers, since it was 1974 and Crayola markers came out in 1978!). I looked serious and even stressed.
I then had what's probably my earliest memory. I was perhaps 4 or 5 years old. I showed my mother a drawing I'd made. She criticized it and drew over it to "fix" it. I felt dejected and hurt, but I never said anything to her about it. I just accepted that I was bad at art.
At the end of that year, I finally admitted that I'd neglected a strong desire to create art for 42 years. That stressed child that loved making art needed an understanding parent (the adult me) to nurture her. So here I am in my 40s just beginning my (traditional) art journey. I hope someday to create visionary art.

I'm also into spirituality and visionary fiction.
